Head of Conveyancing and Partner of Langley Wellington LLP
Andy joined Langley Wellington in 1996 to head up its conveyancing work having gained many years of experience at another Gloucestershire firm which has since merged with Langley Wellington. Prior to that Andy worked in the legal department of Nationwide Building Society.
In many ways Andy pioneered a lot of the conveyancing processes that we now take for granted. Co-operation with estate agents and access for clients to on-line case tracking were not always the basic every day procedures that they are now! Andy has always been very forward thinking and extremely customer focused which traditionally has always been a failing of many law firms.
Andy’s drive and vision of how to modernise the house moving process led him to open Cotswold Conveyancing Centre in 1999. His idea was to create a specialist, unique and dedicated department which would provide clients with a no nonsense straight forward and motivated approach to conveyancing at a time when very few solicitors specialised in just conveyancing and tried to split their disciplines.
Langley Wellington via CCC is one of the largest providers of transactional conveyancing in the area but with Andy’s original principles of providing good communication and client focused attitudes.
Andy himself carries out all aspects of property work and builds excellent relationships with his clients that last through many house moves.

Sharon joined Cotswold Conveyancing Centre in September 1999 at the point of its inception and has since that time been fundamental in the development and success of the department.
Sharon has many years of experience in all aspects of conveyancing and has dealt with all types of transactions and properties. She has now found her niche with New Build properties and now specialises in this complex area of property buying. She ensures that the tight deadlines set by Developers are met without any unnecessary stress and she is familiar with the various home buy schemes that have been introduced in relation to new properties.
Sharon is able to meet tight deadlines for developers whilst providing all her clients with a personal and dedicated service.
Head of Cheltenham Office - Partner, Chartered Legal Executive and CILEx Conveyancing Practitioner
Scott is a Partner and a Conveyancing Lawyer with over 10 years’ experience in both residential and commercial conveyancing. Scott has a reputation for being commercially minded and pragmatic, even in the most complex of cases.
In his role as the firm’s Senior Responsible Officer under the Law Society’s Conveyancing Quality Scheme, Scott is responsible for creating and implementing the firm’s conveyancing practice policies.
Scott has been commended for having excellent technical knowledge and is often referred to by other property professionals for advice on complex transactions, particularly in respect of Stamp Duty Land Tax.
Scott’s experience in residential and commercial cases include: sale and purchase of freehold and leasehold properties; remortgages; transfers of equity; shared ownership properties; lease extensions; Help to Buy schemes; new build purchases; new build sales; creation of management schemes; voluntary and compulsory first registrations of title; and adverse possession claims.
Scott was the first member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (“CILEx”) to be granted Conveyancing Practice Rights (Reserved Instrument Activities) by CILEx in February 2015.
Chartered Legal Executive – Cheltenham Office
Claire specialises in residential conveyancing and is a Chartered Legal Executive who qualified in 2000. She has always worked in Gloucestershire and knows the local market well. Claire offers practical advice, protecting the best interests and position of clients in a clear and practical way. She is very approachable and has a keen eye for detail
Claire is highly motivated and regularly updates clients and other professionals so that the stress of moving house is reduced. A dedicated professional who will always talk to other parties and give reasonable and sound advice.
Outside of work Claire enjoys spending time with her family and friends. She is a black belt in Tae Kwon Do and organises fund raising events for her children's school.
Nicola Ross is a seasoned property lawyer and has been working in the Gloucestershire residential property market for over 20 years. She has handled thousands of moves for clients over the years and joined the busy Residential Conveyancing Department at Langley Wellington in 2021. Originally as a Locum and now as one of our conveyancing consultants. Nicola’s expertise covers a wide range of residential property matters and some commercial property law too. Her local knowledge is outstanding and she is a dedicated member of our team, who is focused on delivering a high-quality service and a positive client experience.

Nicola has worked in property law for 22 years and has been qualified since 2007 as a Fellow of the Institute of Legal Executives.
Partner and Senior Solicitor
Philip Ryder is a Partner and senior solicitor with a longstanding experience in dealing with a broad range of residential property matters. Having worked in Gloucestershire and London for many years, Philip has detailed knowledge of the local Gloucester and London markets.
Philip also has specialist knowledge in leasehold matters – including lease extensions, collective enfranchisement and 1987 Act -, residential property development, mezzanine investment and private security and property trusts. He has also developed expertise in Agricultural property. Philip believes in working closely with each client to achieve the right solution for their requirements, with a focus on providing excellent client care.
Memberships and Associations:
Philip has been working in property law for over 25 years and qualified as a solicitor in 2001. He graduated with a BA (Hons) from the University of Leicester and LLB (Hons) from the University of Sussex.
Solicitor - Charlton Kings Office
Attended school in London before studying for a degree in Theology. She then elected to do a post graduate law degree at Middlesex University, and completed the Law Society Legal Practice course at the University of West of England. Veronica qualified as a solicitor in 1999 and practiced initially in Swindon before originally joining Brand Mellon in the year 2000. Following the merger with Langley Wellington on 1 June 2021, she now manages the firm's Charlton Kings office.
Attended Sir Thomas Rich's School and then the College of Law in Guildford. He qualified as a Solicitor in 1984. John is a fanatical sportsman, especially where Gloucester Rugby Club is concerned, as he played for the club at a junior level in his younger years.
Solicitor - Gloucester Office
Jim Cook qualified as a Solicitor over 30 years ago having studied at the College of Law both in Guildford and Chester. Jim has always specialized in property matters including buying and selling of houses and flats. He has a special skill and in-depth knowledge of shared ownership properties and the affordable housing schemes. He also has substantial experience in acting for developers buying land for development and the subsequent sales of those new homes when built.
Consultant Solicitor - Gloucester Office
Jane qualified as a solicitor in 1987, having studied at Cardiff University and the College of Law, Chester. She has always specialized in all aspects of the conveyancing transaction and is used to dealing with all types of properties. Jane is used to dealing with tight deadlines, and combines skill with a friendly jargon-free approach. Client care is very important to Jane, much of her work is from personal recommendations and returning clients. Jane believes communication is key in the house moving process and her hands on approach with other professionals involved makes for smoother, less stressful transactions.
Client Manager - Gloucester Office
Jessica joined Cotswold Conveyancing Centre in December 2019 having previously worked in another local law firm for 4.5 years.
Jessica has experience in most aspects of residential conveyancing and is currently training to become a Chartered Legal Executive. Jessica offers support and comfort in times when moving home can become stressful. She excels when it comes to providing updates and is happy to offer advice to ensure a smooth and enjoyable property transaction.
Licensed Conveyancer - Gloucester Office
Luke joined Cotswold Conveyancing Centre in October 2020 and qualified as a Licensed Conveyancer in November 2020 having previously worked at a law firm in the Forest of Dean.
Luke has experience in most aspects of residential conveyancing and believes communication is key in dealing with Clients, Agents and Solicitors in providing a successful transaction.
Outside of work Luke enjoys Horse Racing, unfortunately supports Spurs Football Team and spends most of his time keeping his two year old son out of trouble.
Client Manager - Gloucester Office
Rebecca joined Cotswold Conveyancing Centre in December 2019.
Working in the property industry the majority of her adult life, in both Estate Agency and Conveyancing, Rebecca has gained extensive knowledge of the trials both sellers and buyers face when dealing with Property and how to overcome them in an efficient manner. Living in Gloucester has brought a wealth of local knowledge, understanding different areas and markets. Throughout her career Rebecca has handled transactions for clients worldwide, predominately working on transactions in the Gloucestershire area and London. Rebecca now works with clients purchasing new build properties as first time buyers as well as selling their own properties.
Rebecca is currently training to qualify as a Chartered Legal Executive specialising in Conveyancing.
Outside of work Rebecca competes in Agility regularly with her English Springer Spaniel and is a keen runner.
Becky Morgan & Gabby Moston-Smith
Becky has worked for the firm since 1998 as an admin assistant. She has worked in CCC as a new business coordinator for 10 years and has valuable communication skills which make her a favourite point of contact for agents and clients alike.
Gabby joined the firm in 2018. With 15 years experience in retail and customer service, she understands the importance of communication and a tailored approach to each client.
